What an oct scan includes:

Using our advanced REVO OCT scanner, we can capture highly detailed, cross-sectional images of your eye in just a few seconds with no contact, no discomfort, and no need for drops in most cases. The scan produces a 3D image of the back of your eye, allowing your optometrist to examine the layers of the retina and optic nerve with incredible precision.

Detailed retinal imaging: Captures high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the retina to detect early changes in eye health.
Optic nerve assessment: Measures the optic nerve and surrounding nerve fibers to help identify conditions like glaucoma.
Macula and retinal layer analysis: Examines the macula and all retinal layers for early signs of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, or other abnormalities.

An OCT scan can help detect early signs of a range of eye conditions, including:
  • Glaucoma – by measuring the thickness of the optic nerve fibres
  • Macular degeneration – by showing changes to the macula
  • Diabetic retinopathy – by revealing damage to the retinal blood vessels
  • Retinal detachments and other abnormalities – through clear structural imaging
